Schoodic Woods Campground in Acadia NP

We've got a reservation for a pull through site!!!!!!!!

And it has electric.

My senior park pass discount takes half off of the camping fee.

A good place for our home base in Acadia.

Things to do in Acadia NP

Take the car, hike, or bike through the Acadia National Park and see all the wonderful sights.  Photography is very popular in this area.  You almost can't take a bad picture.  The highway past the campground turns to a one-way road and is very popular with cyclist.

Winter Harbor is just two miles from the campground.  It's a great place to explore with small shops and restaurants.  Campbase recommends walking or biking.  Campbase likes Chase's Restaurant for sea food in Winter Harbor.  They are on located on Main Street.

Bar Harber, on Mount Desert is another great destination.  It's quintessential Down East Maine.  A bit touristy but, quite a bit of fun with bars, hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops.   It's a must see on everyone's list.  The other section of Acadia National Park is also on Mount Desert Island.
Bring your bike.  The park has completed an extensive network of bike/hike trails.  All trails are crushed rock and suitable for most types of bikes however, a mountain bike is recommended.  Once you have explored the Schoodic trails, take the bikes over to Mount Desert and explore an even more extensive network of carriage trails.

Acadia as a place to watch for the Perseid meteor showers, since the park is so well-known for its night sky, there’s even a festival to celebrate it annually.
We'll have to stay up late for the meteor shower!!!!!

Godmother/Goddaughter Camping Destination

Changes to camper exterior.

Our camper steps had one strip of non-skid tape
but I added more to cover the holes.
Just don't want Paddy ripping out one of her nails
when we are somewhere in the boonies!

Changed out the white propane cover for a diamond vinyl look.
Looked up on YouTube how to add a zipper to make it a two way.
This makes it much easier to feed propane hose into the cover,
especially when you have to switch tank use

Truck has nice mirrors but it's hard to see past the rear of the camper when towing.

Added a custom looking tow mirror that simply clips on and into place.
They really allow you to see much more, especially vehicles behind the camper.

Once in camp the clip ons can be removed and stored in soft storage bag.

Cost: $50 for the pair.  Much safer now when towing!
