Brad Taylor met us and had already prepped the coach for us to stay right there on his property. It was really nice to have a/c and city water. After a walkthrough to get us through the night we were able to settle in to relax and get ready for our Friday orientation.
Brad's son, Bob, started us at 9AM and took us through all the components of our trailer. After the weight distribution system was set up, Brad drove my truck to set the brake controller. I jumped in the driver's seat so we could have a feel of the highway, regular roads and even bumpy back roads.
Once back we got to say goodbye to Brad and his two sons, Bob and Nate. We can't say enough about the quality of our trailer................worth the one year wait.
At the Peace Bridge crossing we had our coach inspected, a 30 minute process. Would have been quicker but there was a longer wait due to the holiday weekend traffic. Once our paper work was stamped we headed to Cabelas for our first night of boon docking just outside of Buffalo!
With only battery power and propane our Fantastic Fan keep us really comfortable when temps reached almost 90. The propane ran the fridge and the water pump and hot water heater allowed use the bathroom and shower. Shopping at Cabelas was of course a bonus. Olive Garden was right there so we got to-go dinners and enjoyed them back at the camper. Overnight was nice with a cool breeze and a much quieter parking lot than at a Walmart.
Next stop was Evangola State Park in Irving NY. The campground was on the bluffs of Lake Erie where we could hear the waves coming ashore. Nice campground with just electric where we cooled down the camper with running the a/c but again a nice breeze allowed use of the Fantastic Fan.

After just a one night stay we drove to Geneva State Park in Ohio. We had camped there 2 years ago
and since this park was on the way home we stayed there from Sunday through today, Thursday. Our friend Bill Heuser joined us for 2 nights when he towed his teardrop and grabbed the site next to use.

Once we packed up we drove the coach to Moore's RV in North Ridgeville where we will be storing it. They'll pull it out for us and put it away as part of the monthly fee. Only 14 miles from home and worth the security of having it there.
All in all a great first trip where we were able to get a feel for the camper and add some personal touches to make the custom coach even more cozy!
Next trip: Mid October to Fish Creek Pond near Tupper Lake, NY. This state forest preserve has been a favorite since my college days and we are excited to enjoy the fall in such a really beautiful area.
